Here’s how to fix a 1099 form marked ‘Accepted with Errors‘ due to a recipient name and TIN mismatch:

  1. Sign In to your TaxZerone account.
  2. Navigate to the Information Returns dashboard by clicking on the icon in the left menu.
  3. If you’ve filed for multiple payers, use the Filter option located at the top right of the table to filter payers with the 1099 form status ‘Accepted with Errors‘. Otherwise,  proceed to Step 5.
  4. Click on the Summary button in the top right corner for the specific payer to go to the “Filing Summary”.
  5. Locate the forms with “Accepted with Errors” in the “Federal Status” column.

Note: You may use the filter option located at the top right of the table to filter forms with the status ‘Accepted with Errors’.

  6. Click on the “Make Correction” button to proceed with the correction process.
  7. Update the recipient’s name and/or TIN to match the information on file with the IRS.
  8. Submit the corrected forms for processing.

It’s crucial to file a correction for these forms with the correct recipient name and TIN to remain compliant with IRS regulations. If you need assistance or have any questions, reach out to our support team.
